Bad Breath May Not be Your Fault
Have a bad case of bad breath? You might have something common like gingivitis or poor oral habits. If you think this is unlikely, you might have what is called halitosis- a disease that makes your breath smell worse than usual more often than not.
Bad breath is common from things like stress, hunger, dry mouth- or eating foods like cheese, onions, and especially garlic. However, there is a more serious condition to those who feel like they have bad breath more often than they should: chronic bad breath. It can affect up to ¼ of the population, so you aren't alone.
Treatment is another matter. Simply using chewing gum or brushing your teeth will produce short term effects. For more serious matters, there are numerous treatments, but they only work for certain people. Your best bet would be to change your stressing lifestyle, if applicable, and to observe a proper nutrition. Cutting down on sugars is a key in fighting bad breath. One of the best preventions is to brush after every meal, to get out trapped food and help keep the bacteria level in check.
If you do indeed have bad breath, it is something everyone goes through at some point in their lives, says statistics. The best thing to do is keep a toothbrush handy, and improve your lifestyle in general. In no time, you will have a normalized breath back- and will only have to worry when you eat onions or garlic, two of the 'smelliest' foods.
